Day 2 of SUGARFREEFEBRUAREE

Well we are into Day 2 of sugar free February. We have got 29 people enrolled. We have raised $754 so far for the Haiti Earthquake appeal and I am hoping we can crack the $1000 mark with sponsors or late enrolments.

I am really excited you have all decided to kick the “white death” for a month to see how it feels.

What I want you to achieve out of this month is seeing how much sugar you would normally consume and seeing how you feel when you don’t have it.

It is not a crack pot diet that I want you to all starve yourself. Take a look at the meal plan, it is only a suggestion, but it is a healthy eating plan, so please don’t come to me telling me you just ate roast beef all day because you didn’t know what else to eat!

Avoid sweetening your food with any other type of sweeteners natural or artificial, that will hardly help with your tastebuds.

Don’t find ways to justify having sugar, it is just a major cop-out. For example, having a beer when you finish an adventure race…..

After this month, I am not expecting everyone to give up sugar for ever, but hopefully your tastebuds will have changed a little, you will see that you feel better and weight less, so it might encourage you to cut right back on it and only have it at special moments.

Good luck everyone, like I said, I am super excited, so stay focussed, eat healthy and be happy.

Here is the enrolment list, but it is not too late to join…

So far, so good… A lot of mates seem to be doing a ‘no booze’ month this month, which is great. I’m confessing here and now – it’s my birthday at the end of the month, so I will be counting it as a “special occasion”!

I can’t beleive that I’m going to be the first one to admit to a breach …
just want to be clear of course that it was a planned occasion and I had decided in advance that I was oging to indulge – it wasn’t a case of being tempted into it, or getting caught up in the moment, or being under prepared.
I know that doesn’t change things, but anway ….

    so, here goes:
high tea (scones, cakes & sandwiches) + champage + a cocktail + multiple gin+sodas on saturday evening.

sooo …. no idea how much I owe to the fund for this- but I think I’m going to have to round it to about $100 just to be sure.

Shipsey – I’ll forward you my receipt after payday this month.

I was wondering where to confess sins..

So on day two I had a function (planned occasion as well) and had a few vodka sodas. And yesterday I had the cole classic race and had a cup of gatorade post race & ate some chocolate cake and lollies at the can-too after party..

Will work out how much I owe at the end of the month!

Right – i’m confessing too (and like you Kirsty, sure there’s more people out there!)
    - A couple of little rounds of sushi with white rice last night (is this cancelled by the fact it was after running training?)
    - A sip of a colleague’s caramel milkshake at lunch today
    - Some non-grainy bread at a cafe last weekend

I made a $100 donation to the Haiti appeal before this was planned – I’ll send you the receipt Troy – does this mean I still have 7 breaches up my sleeve?

Some further confessions for me… had a baby shower at my house yesterday for a friend, and I had a chocolate croissant and a little piece of the cake
